A dull face is not only caused by hormonal changes, air, or makeup products. More than that, a dull face can also occur due to inappropriate ways of caring for and cleaning the face. Caring for a dull face does not have to use expensive facial cleansing products and supplements for glowing skin. There are various ways you can easily treat your face and prevent it from becoming dull.
Even though you regularly clean your face, the following important things may often be forgotten when doing dull facial treatments:
Using cleansers without fragrance and foam
Choose a facial cleanser without foam and aroma. It is recommended to use a cleanser containing ceramide, as it can keep the skin moisturized. Limit the use of scrubs and toners that use alcohol because there is a risk of causing facial skin to become drier and duller. No less important is cleaning your face regularly, especially in the morning and at night.
Use cold water when washing your face
Even though it feels comfortable, using warm water to clean the face is not the right way, because it can make the skin dry and duller. Water that is too hot risks removing natural oils on facial skin which actually play a role in keeping the skin moisturized. In treating a dull face, it is better to use cold or lukewarm water to rinse the face.
Rub your face for about two minutes
During cleansing, you are not advised to scrub your face for too long. Scrubbing your face for less than two minutes is enough to clean dirt on your face.
Choose the right moisturizer
You can use a moisturizer, such as petroleum jelly, mineral oil, cream, or lotion. It is also recommended to use products that contain stearic acid, ceramides, or shea butter. Apply a moisturizer a few minutes after bathing, so that the skin’s moisture does not disappear.
Don’t forget the sunscreen
One of the main causes of a dull face is excessive sun exposure. For dull facial treatments, always use sunscreen at least with the label SPF 15 or SPF 30, according to facial skin conditions. In addition, you can also wear a hat or scarf when you are outdoors.
