Featured Horses from Owners of Certified Heritage Stallions & Mares
Before the formation of the Tennessee Walking Horse Heritage Society in 2003, and its subsequent definition of what marks a Heritage Walking Horse in our Society, all of the Heritage breeders had crossed some of their mares with stallions that were popular in their respective areas of Tennessee, or in some cases, within the larger breed group. Although none of the stud colts were retained for breeding purposes, a number of the mares proved to be excellent producers of quality pleasure stock, and are still used within the broodmare bands of the farms where they were foaled. Since the foals of these mares can never be established as Heritage Walking Horses due to their modern bloodlines, their offspring are being offered on this page as Heritage Outcrosses. These foals and mature horses are blessed with the nice walking gaits and gentle dispositions of their Heritage parent, but their bloodlines are not as unique, as they are found more readily throughout the Tennessee Walking Horse breed.
As a service to other Heritage breeders, the Heritage Society has developed this page so they can advertise their Outcross horses.
Wind's Notorious (Diesel) is a smokey black colt by Go Boy's Windwalker and out of Touch of Black Gold making him a Heritage Outcross. His sire is a 5 time natural NPWHA flat shod Champion that has produced many using TWHs for field trial, hunting and trail pleasure. His dam is by Black Hills Dreamweaver (by Supreme Versatility Champion He's Black Hills Gold) and out of Miner's Touch (by Supreme Versatility Champion The Gold Miner). Diesel was born extremely friendly, curious and willing which endears him to everyone as he prefers attention to food or treats. His dam is over 16hh and his sire has large bone so we expect him to be a rather large horse. Very laid back and nice way of traveling. Diesel will make a nice horse for any discipline. Halcyon Windsong (Sprite) is a solid bay filly by Go Boy's Windwalker and out of She's Surely Royal. Go Boy's Windwalker (Heritage) carries bloodlines of Merry Go Boy, Society Man and Brown Allen close up on his pedigree. She's Surely Royal is by Royal Bond ( Royal Master X Threat's Godiva by Triple Threat) and out of A Little Red Corvette (by Coin Machine out of a Hill's Perfection daughter). Sprite is a perfect cross of old and newer walking bloodlines making her a Heritage Outcross. Pushed Over By the Wind (Satellite) is a big young gelding sired by Heritage stallion,Go Boy's Windwalker and out of a Pushover daughter (out of a Magic Bum daughter). Over 16hh and just shy of 3, Satellite has a tremendous back end and balanced front end, nice flat and running walk with a calm, quiet and willing disposition. He is the horse that comes up to the pasture gate and say "me, take me first" as he loves to be ridden, get groomed and go on an adventure. Offered for sale at $2500. He will make an excellent trail, field trial, flat shod show or pleasure horse. He had an injury as a yearling on a rear leg with a scar but has always been sound with no issues.
